George Tackes

George wrote plays in the 1980s that were performed at Chicago theaters. During the 1990s, he was a newspaper reporter for suburban Chicago newspapers. In the early 2000s, he worked as an associate editor for trade publications. In 2018, George attended his first Windy City Pulp and Paper Convention and got the pulp bug. In 2021, his first two stories appeared in Airship 27’s Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective #17. Also that year, Airship 27 published his first novel, “The Great Chicago Fire Conspiracy.” It was nominated for Pulp Factory’s Best Pulp Novel in 2021. He lives in Oak Lawn, Illinois, with his wife, his daughter, and a very demanding dachshund named Bailey.
